High-Quality Maternity Care in the Netherlands
Insured care according to the Health Insurance Act (Zvw), delivered with the premium quality of Prestige Healthcare Group.
How does it work in the Netherlands?
In the Netherlands, maternity care is included in the basic package of your health insurance. This means everyone has the right to professional guidance at home after childbirth. We meet all quality requirements set by the Dutch Healthcare Institute.
The Number of Hours
The legal minimum is 24 hours. Based on the National Indication Protocol (LIP), we jointly determine exactly how many hours you need. With us, this can increase to a maximum of 80 hours for medical or specific indications.
Delivery Assistance
Do you opt for a home birth or an outpatient birth? Our maternity nurse assists the midwife during delivery (partus assistance). These hours fall outside your standard maternity care hours.
Personal Contribution
From the basic insurance, you pay a statutory personal contribution per hour in the Netherlands (determined by the NZa). Do you have supplementary insurance? Then this is often fully reimbursed.
Arrange your maternity care on time
We advise arranging your maternity care around the 12th to 16th week of your pregnancy. Especially in the Netherlands, capacity can be scarce in busy summer months.
