Maternity Care via Basic Insurance (NL)
Do you live in the Netherlands? Then you are entitled to maternity care from your basic insurance (Health Insurance Act - Zvw). The exact number of hours is determined via the National Indication Protocol (LIP), starting from a minimum of 24 hours to a maximum of 80 hours in case of complications or medical indications.

Although maternity care is in the basic package, there is a statutory personal contribution per hour, determined by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Do you have supplementary insurance? Then this personal contribution is often (partially or fully) reimbursed by your health insurer. Always check your own policy conditions for this.
Partus Assistance
Do you give birth at home or without a medical indication in the hospital or birthing center? Then our assistance during childbirth (partus assistance) is reimbursed from the basic insurance. There is no personal contribution for this!

Statutory NZa Rates (2026)
The maximum rates below have been set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) for the year 2026 (Decision TB/REG-26626-02). These costs are generally covered for Dutch insured persons from the basic insurance (Zvw), subject to the statutory personal contribution per hour.
